Tisno
Tisno is settlement on the east coast of the island Murter. Far away 29 km from Sibenik and counts about 1400 residents. Settlement Tisno
becomes, as a result of retrieving residents under Turks, at north - est.
part of Murter where the island meets the land. At tight channel (only 6 m) settlement got the name, so for the first time under the name Tisno it is mentioned 1474.
At the beginning of 18 ct. bridge has been built that connects island Murter
with the land, so the settlement starts to expand to the coast. Already in
1832. old bridge is exchanged with the new movable bridge. The oldest church in this
place, district church of St. Spirit, built in 1548. In 1640 it has been renovated in baroque style, and 1840 was expended. Beautiful bell-tower
raised in 1680 local craftsmen. Other churches were built in 17 ct. or later.
Settlement has post-office, bank, ambulance, port branch office. Entertainment
and pleasure in Tisno you can find in many catering establishments, while
accommodation is insured in comfort private apartments or in hotel
"Borovnik" situated in the centre of settlement on the sea. Lovers
of camping can spend their vacation in auto-camp "Jazina" 1 km away from the centre. Camp at special attractive site in gentle bay with private beach dispose

berth and sport units.
